Beach Street BBQ Bash

This was the first picture that was “Foto Del Dia” worthy for today – thanks Kara! I love the 4th of July; Humboldt Park goes berserk. I’m pretty sure the kids were just lighting sticks of dynamite at some point. The streets are so trashed from all the debris. It was nuts!

I kept taking pictures as the night progressed and here they are:

This pretty much sums up the action in the streets. People standing about, fire, explosions! I am really happy that this is all blurry – even though I usually try to focus the camera… It’s like a fantastic painting.

Anther excellent display from the comfort of Kara’s backyard couch. Nice.

This may be my absolute favorite. It is much calmer than the night really was but it’s so very elegant.

We are all standing in the street watching the neighbor kids light up the night.

I saw this composition and waited for about 20 minutes to get this picture. The fireworks just never blew up in exactly the spot I wanted them to… But I love this tree!

I was in the middle of the street taking this picture. It was just after a 20 minute NON-STOP chain of fire-crackers went off. Everyone was cheering and clapping. You can also see a bit of the debris.
Totally Nuts.
